Beijing-based Santek has announced three new Windows Mobile 6 phones to be sold in the U.S. in unlocked form by an undisclosed partner, according to the company. The devices include the SSGN3, with built-in GPS; the slim SSDC850; and the FM-radio equipped SSN5, according to the company.
The SSGN3 is a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE device that uses a Marvell PX270 processor, with GPS functionality provided by the omnipresent SiRF starIII chipset. A 3.2-inch touchscreen display is joined by a two megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and 802.11b/g wireless networking.
The SSDC850 is described as slim, though dimensions were not released. It offers a 2.8-inch touchscreen plus a TI OMAP850 processor backed by 256MB of RAM and 64MB of flash memory. Both GSM (900/1800/1900MHz) and CDMA 2000 (800/1900MHz) connectivity are provided, along with a two megapixel camera.
The SSN5 rounds out the trio with what appears to be the most advanced specifications -- in this case, Santek has at least published a few more of them. The device steps up to Windows Mobile 6 Professional, running on a PXA270 clocked at 416MHz. It features 64MB of RAM and 128MB of flash, plus a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) EDGE radio.
Other SSN5 specifications revealed by Santek include a 2.6-inch display, two megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and 802.11b/g wireless networking; the phone also has a built-in FM radio and microSD card. It has a 1150mAh battery, and measures 4.4 x 2.4 x 0.5 inches (112 x 61 x 14 mm), according to the company.
Pricing and availability were not released by Santek.
